This is a serious matter, and should be discussed with your physician.

Well, you know that it has to start somewhere. No one in my family ever had uterine cancer…till me…at age 51 but my father had a malignant brain tumor when he was 40. My younger sister is afraid of being tested for various tests because her tests come back false/negative and she has to go back again to be retested..so far, so good. I, by contrast, get tested all of the time. Good luck to you.

Yes, it is possible, the genes can mutate in any generation. Scientists are still learning how and why. My sister had breast cancer in her 30s and there was no history of breast cancer in our large family until her. My dad’s sister has had it twice since then and I have had it.
Also, if a person does test positive for the BRCA1/2 it isn’t a guarantee that they will get cancer . The test is very expensive and if you don’t already have a family history your insurance may not pay for the testing and if they do, they have that little bit of information about you and may deny you coverage. It’s all food for thought.
