In cattle, black coat color is dominant to white coat color. A farmer has a black male of undetermined genotype. How can the farmer determine the genotype of this black male?
Would the answer be that the farmer could have the black male mate with a white female or???
Thanks,
Bob

I know that it is a sex linked gene on the X chromosome, or I could be wrong. So is that why they tell you that if you look at your mother’s father that is a good indication? However, I have heard that the mother’s father is not the only indicator. Can someone please clarify?
